Short history of ARBIKAS
Arbikas Pte was founded in 1992, as a private family business, by dipl. eng Valentin Penchev, who has a masters degree in Electronics in Technical University Sofia (former MEI). In the beginning company's office was situated in his family living apartment in Strlelbishte district in Sofia town. The only employees were Valentin and his wife Petia Pencheva, and an year later their son Stefan Penchev joins ARBIKAS team.
In 1993 were bought first test machines - two HP printers – Hewlett Packard LaserJet III (SX engine) and Newgen Sys Turbo PS400p (LX engine/ HP IIp equivalent). Some printing houses and several publishers are our first clients. We di refill our first toner cartridges – Canon CX engine (Canon PC 20), Canon SX (Hewlett Packard II/III), Canon LX (Hewlett Packard IIp/IIIp).
In 1995 we opened our first office. Another employee joined our team - Liudmila Petrova. In 1995 we bought our first service car.
In spite of all the difficulties at the time of hyper inflation during 1996, in 1997 we opened a second office near former Pliska hotel at Tzartigradsko shousse boulevard
With the increase of work, in 1999 we moved our Pliska office to a new larger location - in Iztrok district, block 23, where is our central office and store up to nowadays.
At 2000 year ARBIKAS has 10 employees. Trade and store area are constantly increasing.
At the end of 2004 year ARBIKAS has more than 20 employees.
In september 2005 we founded ARBIKAS Ltd, inheritor of ARBIKAS Pte politics and activities. Owners are Valentin, Petia and Stefan Penchev. The same year we implanted in our activity our first ERP system.
Nomenclature constantly increases and in 2006 we offered more than 20'000 products, with a staff of 25 people.
In 2007 we implanted ISO 9001:2000, standard in ARBIKAS, and later in 2009 we recertified according to new ISO 9001:2008.
In 2010 ARBIKAS has more than 30 employees, offering more than 40'000 products.
In 2014 ARBIKAS has more than 40 employees - highly qualified service technicians and engineers, managers, sales managers, consultants, drivers; trade area over 150 sq. m., service area more than 400 sq.m., store area more than 400 sq.m. products offered - more than 55 000 items; we have 6 service cars; we have more than 10'000 active Clients.
In 2016 ARBIKAS implanted a brand new ERP system, cloud based, with advanced possibilities, integrated with a new web store. The new ERP covers all processes in the company and helps all employees in ther work. It has many customized modules, with a real time direct link with company's web site
Last year was branded by COVID-19 pandemy. Big delays in shipments, lack of stock availability, but we overcome the difficulties. Office Iztok was moved to a new location in Sofia - Mladost 1 district, bl.30, entrance 3, ground floor. Our new head office in Mladost is comfortable and cozy, and is located in convenient place, with a parking area, much better than at the old Iztok office. Thanks to all our team, we quickly organized our repair activities and client services. Office Iztok was officially closed on the 1st of Oct. 2021.
